Measuring Service

Here at Manchester Stairs we offer a service, where one our team can come to you free of charge (depending on location) and measure up to ensure that perfect fit.

It will normally be Kevin, who is one of the Managing Directors at Manchester Stairs, who has had many years experience in the trade, especially in the manufacturing of staircases.

Building Regulations

​

We guarantee that all staircases supplied by us are in accordance with building regulations. We ensure that the angle of the staircase does not exceed 42 degrees as this will go against regulations. They have a maximum rise of 220mm and a minimum going of 220mm. The handrails on the stairs and landings have a minimum height of 900mm and no openings of any balustrading should allow a passage of a 100mm sphere. A minimum of 2,000mm of clear headroom is required above the pitch line.

What will we be measuring?

When one of our team comes to you they will only need three measurements;

1. finished floor to finished floor

2. overall width

3. overall length

Once we have these three measurements, we will be able to design the staircase that exceeds your expectations and utilise the space available in an ingenious, unique way.
